  • Subject beautiful marine scene of a black and white Saint Bernard Dog is being swamped by the choppy rough sea waves in side profile view, the dog is clutching holding onto a wooden deck plank that has broken off from a sinking ship that he was travelling on. The dog is looking towards the left gasping for breath, surrounded by rough rolling high seas. He is wearing his collar, a glass distress message in bottle has been tied to his collar with rope. On the bottle it reads London to New York. In the distance to the right you can see a rescue ship sailing towards the dogs position. A partially submerged barrel is next to the plank, which also has inscription on Swamped with an anchor symbol & London. Overhead seagulls flying in a mainly overcast sky with light blue coming through in places.
