You can see golden brown straw on the stable floor, a partially wooden panelled stable back wall. The horse is looking directly at the viewer with his side eye.

  • This painting is signed in the bottom corner by the known British artist Samuel Bliger Spalding.
  • Inscribed with the race horse's name on the bottom.
  • in our opinion, this is one of his fine earlier works.
  • Artist biography Charles Bilger Spalding RA (1810-1871) a listed known British artist who was born in the early 19th century in the year 1810. He specialised in painting sporting animals & hunting scenes, he was known to have exhibited at the Royal Academy. His works have been exhibited & sold at galleries and auction houses around the world, the highest sold price is for $26,214 US Dollars.
