- A nice proportion sized frame being 53 cm wide and 43 cm tall.
- Title "Strand Street Dock Road 1911".
- Your focus is first drawn to Liver building and a Liver bird seen in the background. the busy street life of Liverpool set during the Edwardian era before WW1 in 1911, you see see the amazing architecture design of the buildings along this known street, with horses and carriages moving along the cobbled street with passengers and people ladies & gentleman pedestrians walking along dressed in period clothes & hats of that era. With street lighting that illuminates this scene, to the right you can view the names of some of the shops like M Jones.
- Biography of the artist Artist biography, Steven Scholes was born in the year 1952 he is from Lancashire and resides very close to Manchester, he loved art from a very young age, he was known to have won an art award when he was a child. His artistic style was guided by his grandfather as they travelled together often around Manchester when he was young. Scholes loved the architecture from the old Victorian and Edwardian period buildings.
- Scholes was inspired by these childhood travels & shows these experiences in his art creations, he loves to show off the vibrant old charming street scenes & enhances these with his use of fabulous opulent yellow with golden, white hue colours to illuminate the scene with street lights. Along with combining the illusion of movement through transport with horse and carriages & people figures of that time period. Steven's incredible skills was finally realised during the mid 1970s’ when he won the Manchester Evening News Art Competition. His works are in high demand by private collectors & art galleries around the world.
- His paintings have sold at auctions around the world with the current highest price being $1660 US dollars which was for the painting called City Lights London 1958.
