- Artist biography Edward Aistrop was a British Impressionist & Modern artist. Aistrops’ works have been exhibited at galleries & auction houses around the world, the current highest sold price set is $8,219 US Dollars which was for study of a Pug dog at Christie’s. Aistrop’s a known painter especially of animals like dogs. He operated during the late Victorian era 19th century and early 20th century he really flourished as an artist between 1880-1920. He was regularly requested to paint champion pets, his especially sought after works are dogs hunting ratting. He was such an accomplished artist he was able to convey to the viewer the actual character of the dogs that he painted.
