- Artist biography Thomas Blinks a known British 19th Century artist who was born in the year 1853. Thomas Blinks's artwork’s have been sold at auction houses around the world like Christie’s & Sotherby’s & exhibited in the British Museum. The highest sold price is $564,000 US Dollars. The artist died in the year 1912. Thomas Blinks is considered the animalier expert artist of his era along with his sporting subjects. He flourished between the late end of the 19th century to the early 20th century. His distinct style was the he was able to seize the motion of his animal subjects that he painted. He used various mediums like watercolour & oil. He expressed such liberation in his brushstrokes. He was known to have exhibited at the Royal British Academy along with the Royal Institute. He grew up in the south of England in the capital London. Primarily a self-taught artist he adored painting hunting & shooting scenes. He also had famous artist patrons from St Johns Wood who were James Tissot along with Alma Tadema.
