🛕 Antique Qing Chinese Vajrapāṇi Buddhist temple guardian carving – rare devotional wood plaque 🔥

A spiritually commanding devotional carving with powerful guardian energy, believed to represent Vajrapāṇi, the Bodhisattva of Power and one of Buddhism’s most revered protectors. This antique carved wooden temple plaquecaptures the deity in a dramatic wrathful form, seated in lalitāsana upon a lotus base, engulfed in a flaming mandorla symbolizing divine radiance and indestructible force.

Expressively rendered with bulging eyes, flowing hair, and muscular authority, this figure exemplifies late Qing-style Buddhist craftsmanship. The right hand appears to hold a vajra-like implement, a symbol of spiritual strength, while the overall iconography strongly aligns with Vajrapāṇi’s role as a remover of obstacles and defender of the Dharma.

Originally intended for temple or household altar devotion, this plaque carries a presence that transcends time—making it highly desirable for serious collectors of Asian religious art.
