"Portrait of Lady Sara Losh – Architect & Designer" (c.1815)

She wears a flowing white Regency gown with a rich maroon shawl draped over her arm. 📚 About Lady Sara Losh (1785–1853)

Lady Sara Losh was a British architect, designer, and landowner known for creating St Mary’s Church in Wreay, an early precursor to the Arts and Crafts Movement. Educated, multilingual, and well-travelled, she stood out in a male-dominated field as a bold thinker and creative visionary. Though her personal papers were lost, her impact survives through her architectural work and biographical tributes.
