Shipping Policy – Cheshire Antiques Consultant LTD

At Cheshire Antiques Consultant LTD, we are committed to delivering fine art with precision, professionalism, and the highest standards of care. Our global logistics process ensures that every piece is treated as a valuable investment from the moment of purchase to final delivery.

Customs Payment & Brexit

Cheshire Antiques Consultant LTD operates on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis. This means:

  • International buyers are responsible for any import duties, VAT, taxes, or customs clearance fees applicable in their country.

  • BREXIT Update: As of 1st January 2021, UK-to-EU shipments are now subject to new customs and duty charges. We advise EU buyers to check with their local tax office to confirm applicable import fees.

  • If duties or customs charges are declined and the parcel is returned, all shipping costs will be deducted from any refund.

We ship internationally using trusted logistics partners:

  • DHL (Airfreight & Express)

  • FedEx, UPS, DPD, TNT, Convelio, and Transglobalexpress

Tracking details are provided via DHL or selected courier on the day your artwork departs our facility.

UK Domestic Delivery

  • Free Standard Delivery to:
    Mainland England, Wales & Scottish Mainland
    (1-person, door-to-door courier service)

Express Delivery Charges (UK Mainland Only):

Additional surcharges apply for properties with restricted access (e.g., upper floors, flats). Please contact us for tailored 2-person delivery quotes.

Estimated UK Delivery Times

  • Express: 1–3 working days

  • Standard: 2–5 working days

  • Economy: 5–10 working days

  • Next Day (Up to 30kg): £65

  • Next Day (31kg–250kg): approx. £250 per item

International Shipping & Responsibility

Delivery timeframe: 3–10 working days (depending on service selected).

Shipping charges are auto-calculated at checkout, based on item size or weight.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure the product is legally importable into your country.

  • Provide your VAT/Tax ID (e.g., CUIT, CUIL, CDI) during order.
    (Required for customs clearance in many countries.)

  • Failure to provide this may result in customs delays, warehousing, or return to sender.

  • Returned items due to unclaimed or uncleared customs may take up to 90 days to return.

Currency & Insurance

  • All prices listed in £ Pounds Sterling.
    Your bank will convert this at your local exchange rate.

  • Only the painting surface is insured.
    Frames are not covered and we cannot be held liable for any frame damage during shipping.

Recipient Responsibilities & Refund Policy

  • The recipient is the importer of record and must comply with all local laws and regulations.

  • Customs, duties, and tax charges are non-refundable.

  • Refused shipments will not receive a refund for shipping fees or item value.

To ensure smooth customs clearance:

  • Provide a reachable phone number for your local customs office

  • Do not ignore carrier communications regarding duties/taxes

  • Carriers may only hold packages for 5 days before returning to sender
