- Subject seascape marine view of a yacht sailing in the distance in Garwick Bay on choppy rough & spring breeze windy seas above with overcast cloudy sky with areas of blue shining through. Shoreline to the right flank further back.
- Signed in the bottom corner by the artist Arthur Cox.
- In our opinion this is one of his finest works.
- Artist biography Arthur Cox is an artist born in the early Victorian era around 1840 and he died in 1917. He travelled around the British isles and loved painting marine subjects, he was an American marine artist. The artist's works have sold at auctions around the world many times.
- The word Garwick Bay comes from the Celtic word for 'pleasant bay', the beach area really does live up to its name. It has clear waters also green trees that overhanging the beach, the sheltered cove has a tropical atmosphere feel to it and is an amazing place to enjoy peace & quiet & admire the fabulous view. One of the most beautiful glens beaches on the Island in the Isle of Man, is the valley at Baldrine where the River Gawne goes through & it then drops down connecting to the sea at the bay. Garwick Beach can be located at the foot of Garwick Glen in the valley of Baldrine, with its small bay which has woodlands of the Glen at the back of it.
